Blu Ray Information
What Is Blu Ray Player
Blu Ray Disc, also known as BD is an optical storage medium, which have similarities with the normal CD or DVD. It can store much more volume than traditional reference discs. Single-sided Blu-ray Disc may have a capacity of 25 GB, while a part of Blu-ray will have a capacity of 50GB. A blue laser beam is used to read the disc, which is why the album is named. Traditional CD players use a green laser to read data from disk and therefore it is impossible for the traditional players to play and download data to a BD. Special BD players, ranging from $ 200 to $ 3000 are available on the market today and a lot of developments have taken place with the BD players after the first BD player was launched in June 2006 by Sony and Pioneer .
Initially, the idea behind a database to create a storage device that looked and worked as a disc, but was capable of storing and backing HD (High Definition) for information. The same thinking has been behind the evolution of the BD players. The first players use MPEG-2 format for playback of BD, which was the same one used by the HD-DVD format. The picture and sound quality, therefore, were not very different from an HD-DVD and BD, the scoring system only in terms of storage capacity. For a player who has a price of $ 3000, this was not an important selling point.
The cost is low and the majority of codecs have been made exclusively for BD players to improve quality and provide consumers with better quality HD. The AVC and VC1 two of these are the codecs that were used in the Sony BWU-100A, which was also the first mass market player BD. It`s was marked at $ 700, and is a widely accepted industry standards.
