How to Install Car Audio Wires and Cables
How To Install Car Audio Wiring
You are installing a stereo system for the life of your vehicle, and as such, spend some time doing things correctly. You know what components you install? Even if you do not have all the components now, I hope to know their plans. This allows you to run all the cables, so when finally the components, you can assemble and connect the cables, and ready to rock. Think about how to install the components, get the installation of parts, and then install the components.
First, buy all the cables you need to think, and only security for a while.
Then disassemble the vehicle in places where wiring is carried out. Pull the seats, carpets, panels, everything! Believe me, this will make running the cables easier and safer.
If you use any kind of damping or acoustic insulation material, it is time to fix it.
Now we have to run cables. Run the power wires, RCA cables, speaker cables, interface cables, the remote turns on cables. Use vehicle manufacturers around the world to keep cables organized and ties out of order.
If you have amp racks or other objects that your wiring to pass through, it’s time to gather the elements, and ensure their wiring. Let’s break it down to:
1.) Extent to which the distances between the components are assembled, and what they connect. For example, the measure of the battery where to mount your amp. Furthermore, it is not stupid.
Other measures of distance:
Amplifier unit
Amplifier speaker
Head of CD / DVD, MP3 player, navigation system, etc.
Also, before buying the cables, make sure you know what works best with their schedule. If you install a 500-watt amplifier, and you know that amplifier 17 ‘of the battery, use a chart to see the size of cable to use. How to get people on the ground all the head-wire electricity, and spend $ 5 a foot of cable 0. WHY? If you do not need it, do not buy it!
2.) OK, so you have all the cables in hand and ready to go. Now is the time to take the other side of your vehicle. First, to understand whether your threads will run. Usually run my power wire on the same side of the vehicle, as the battery. RCA cables run too often for me the center of the vehicle. Knowing this information tells you whether you need to remove parts of your vehicle.
If you do not run wires to a certain part of your vehicle, then you do not need anything to participate. Unless! Unless! Unless! Time for the fun part. Disconnect the ground (also known as negative) wire from the battery. Pull up the panels! I recommend a panel removal tool to remove the panels. This will help protect your panels rupture.
3) Time to run the cables!
First, there is a power cord: Find a hole in the firewall of your vehicle. If you can not find a hole, may be able to squeeze through a power cable to the corner of your windscreen and bonnet with the way your vehicle. Take it easy, or if you feel very nervous driving the vehicle at a stereo shop and have the power to run the wire through the firewall. Then run the cable provided fits well, and not be visible once the carpet in place. Subsequently, the security cable. Also make sure that all is not so, once re-install all panels, carpeting, etc.
Therefore, we are going to run the RCA cable (s), which in turn interface cables and the remote control cable. Again, make sure the negative cable is disconnected from the battery. Disassemble any and all panels surrounding the main unit. Pull the main unit. Then, pull all the panels, consoles and carpet around where you are running your RCA cable and interface cable.
Connect the remote turn-on wire to your head unit wiring. Then run the RCA cables, interface cable and remote turn. All the things I’ve said before about the power cords is also true for the RCA cables and interface. Connect the cable to the RCA pre-out on the head unit and I am sure that you know she RCA channel amplifier. Many RCA cables use color-coded, so that should not be too difficult. Connect the interface cable. Now, reinstall the main unit.
OK, last step. We’re going to run speaker wire! Pull up the panels. Run the cables. Make sure you have a few feet at each end of the cable. I know that sounds stupid, but trust me. It’s more stupid to spend all this time running cable only to discover that it is too short. Then pull the cable up, pull and then run again. Dumb!
4) Safety wire!
Now that the cables are run, it’s time to ensure their safety. There are many ways to get cables, and not all of them work at all times. In fact, you probably need to use a variety of methods to secure your cables throughout the vehicle.
• Secure the cables with zip ties to other bundles of cables.
• Secure the cables with zip ties to small holes (or the creation of small holes)
• Use glue to secure the vehicle with zip ties, and then secure the cables with them.
• Run the wires behind the objects that can be attached to.
• Use the velcro to secure wires
5) Safety wire for mounting locations (amp racks, speaker pods, etc)
If you have any type of fence or customized to your rack stereo components, you might want to find a way to secure your wires to the box or rack. If these racks or enclosures are designed to be seen, you might want to take time, making visible wires, and in good condition. Run the wires through these holes, and his amp.
This trick will make your wires pretty and clean, and keep the flow organized. Plexiglass for subwoofer enclosures, people often choose that cable looks good. Furthermore, the upper cable installers select hardware (terminals) that are of high quality and looks good. If you want the fence must be dismantled, you can install the speaker terminals on the outside of the space, or even to install a quick harness.
