Phillips Portable DVD Player
A Phillips Portable DVD Player Review
I borrowed my friend has a portable DVD player from Phillips, the other day and I was moderately impressed. It’s been a model PET824 with 8.5-inch screen. Overall, I liked the device a bit, “although it was the largest portable DVD player you use.
While the outer box was that the semi-soft, malleable iron type of plastic, the machine is robust combined. Feel as if you can tolerate the treatment very difficult and still work.
Not having owned or used a portable Philips DVD before, I was curious to see what they have to offer. With sufficiently stimulated my interest, I began to investigate a series of other models more closely. Philips occupies half of the price range of portable DVD player with a series of models, all of reasonable quality. While the quality is good, there are fewer players available to other manufacturers that offer similar quality.
There is a consistent look to all players from Philips. For some reason, the declaration of Philips Design is one of the shiny plastic with rounded corners outwards. Philips portable’re also a bit thicker and heavier “than many of the same screen size. Controls the units were well located, easy to understand and easy to use.
More importantly, I found the image quality to be very good throughout the whole team. Philips is promoting a feature called “Bright Dot policy, which should impose a strict intolerance for any lack LCD called bright spots. Who knows how much advertising is promotional, but certainly generate a large LCD screen that generates the almost perfect picture quality.
I was surprised to learn that each model from Philips is able to produce a variety of file formats. Above and beyond DVD movies, can play music, view photos, play MPEG4 and DVD, just to name a few. Most models have only 1 headphone jack, which is a kind of weak at these prices, but if you can overlook the fact that the sound quality is quite respectable. Of course, external speakers to allow only mediocre sound quality on all but the best and most expensive portable DVD player. Philips is no exception in this regard, but a discrete set of headphones or earphones sound quality is much improved.
Depending on the model, we can anticipate 4 to 6 hours of battery life, which is pretty damn good comparison. However, this battery performance has a price, because Philips batteries are quite large and heavy, when stacked next to competitors.
